Working an Idea
I am going to send another article to National Review. The idea is that the country would be better served if we accepted Social Security as a welfare system for the unfortunate, then if we turn it into an investment program. Simply put, Social Security is an entitlement. If all americans own stock through the government, there will be immense pressure to use the government to secure the people's entitlement. People will choose security over risk and reward. This could become quite dangerous to the free-market.
