Socialism Light

Hillary Rodham Clinton:

"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

1. She only used the word "opportunity" because Reagan forced this word into the politician's lexicon. If Hillary dropped the word, then Americans would immediately know that she believes that they are all failures without government intervention.

2. "I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," Funny peculiar. I prefer a "let everybody live their own lives society." And if my old friend doubles my salary by becoming a businessman, God bless him. Before you tax his success away, wait until the Christmas party so that I can toast his drive, intelligence, and decency.

Hope?

I cannot claim that the surge is working. I cannot claim that areas of Iraq are being stabilized. I can only hope that in September, General Petraeus reports that the tide has turned.

"In addition to basic services being restored, the city of Hit has rebuilt its library. Citizens had stored away the books during the war here. They are preparing to re-stock the library."
