Hear, Hear!

Here is an excellent piece in the Post today regarding the Darfur genocide. Former Clinton Administration member Tom Malinowski does a great job pointing out the necessity of a simple fact:

"There is only one sure path to saving lives in Darfur: deploying a much larger military force with a clear mandate to protect civilians."

Are we ready to roll?

Comments:
Tom Malinowski is a joke. The Advocacy Director of the Human Rights Watch suggests a large-scale operation eh? I have my doubts.

There is no doubt that the US military could roll over the entirety of the Sudan with ease, followed by Iran, with a clean up tour in North Korea to round out the fiscal year. Granted, that is a bit far fetched, but the initial sentiment is correct: there is not a nation on this earth that can either compare or trifle with the US military.

With the Clinton administration catching heat rounds over the Balkans affair as well as Somalia, imagine what this would do to the Bush administration.

Perhaps there is room on Jimmy Carter's house building team of abject failures for Tommy too.
