Hef still lives!

I have never known what to make of Hugh Hefner. The instigator of the sexual revolution is more than a party animal. He had a deep philosophic argument against the Western sexual tradition. And his war against this tradition has had some obviously negative side effects.

However there are two points in his favor. First, he was part of a movement that allowed women to live their own lives. It is strange that a pornographer would accomplish this. However, by giving women an imperfect yet perceived right to casual sex, in a way, he gave them power. And the second point is that everybody loves naked women. Even women love naked women. What can you do?

ninja kitty,

I thought it was well caveated enough not to be ridiculous. The sexual revolutions' effect on women is a broad enough topic that one does not have to be Andrea Fucking Dworkin to comment on it. Although that was a nice reference.

I realized the next day that this post was overexuberant. It was not caveated enough, and it was ridiculous. I am not sure if I think porn is a positive for women. I haven't decided if a women taking her clothes off on camera or on stage is a sign of self-confidence or self-loathing.

I am sure it is a negative for at least some men. I have sworn off internet porn because I think it negatively effects my view of women. And anything that negatively effects my view of women has got to go.

Thanks for the comments.
